washer problem......please help!!!!

so i put some clothes in the washer. my washer is old. it was not a big load at all, tho. after 4tabling for 45 minutes i go downstairs to change the load. in the basement there is a smell of burning and a little smoke in the air. uh-oh. the washer is off. i open my washer up and it is full of water so my clothes are sitting in a bath. wtf?!?!?!?!

but does anyone know how to get rid of the mess of water in the machine. is there a way to drain it?
