looks like he wanted to slowplay, saw you raised after him with all those callers so he re raised with alot of gauranteed callers instead of slowplaying.

I'd speculate that you're looking at a flush draw, OESD or 44, maybe QJ. With no reads, it's hard to say what's most likely. I'd call here and not allow any non-scary turns to get checked through. If he bets into you again, I'd be looking to call and showdown cheaply. Be sure the cat is handy to kick should the K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif fall.

Edited for grammar.

I'd say he's got a set.

With no reads I'm really not sure what to make of that. Could be a set, could be pumping up the flush draw, could be a total donk. If given the option, I think I would probably call down, or maybe cap the flop and slow down if he still leads out the turn. I would like to see what this guy has, and perhaps make a note of it if its interesting.

If this did turn out to be a set, and if Villain knew hero to be very aggressive, what do you think of Villain's line here? It looks like a pretty effective way to build the pot, and just raising the flop won't protect your hand against anyone who was going to call anyways.

Well, I called down from there and it turns out it was a set (44). FWIW, I actually thought it was a pretty smart way to build a big pot (that villain is definitely not on my buddy list).

It's worth pointing out that, as you mentioned, he had to assume I'd be aggressive.

so do we fold the flop? if he does have the set, we're drawing near dead. ~1 out of the BDSD with 2 holes. or call down?

Edit: well the OP just posted what he did and what was shown as i was posting, but i'll leave the question to see if calling down is generally the correct line.

did MP play this hand well? or should he have waited 'til the turn?

I would call it down.
