Sadomassochistic Weapons Inspectors

It was found that one of the weapons inspectors has been a leader of a Washington based s&m and leather club. Questions are being raised about the background checks done on these inspectors. Would someone care to explain what a person's somewhat atypical sexual turn-ons have to do with his ability to do his job as a weapons inspector?

I'd say that a heavy interest in S&M might compromise his inspecting in more ways that one. The leather's ok though - although I imagine it would get hot in Iraq.
