Sorry to clog up the forum with PC posts lately.

Can someone tell me how I check the upgradeability of Dells? I am looking at a Dell Dimension 3000 (http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/RBIredirect.aspx?rbi=GKiitGAbBa2SB+6V9bxpRyvwm4g6T n36wTwLVrus+1Yk1iSYlI8tpShc0L6a76U+CVUTEeEnm6xQpNC ns44qZF9i+kR5o+uhmqSSIFkXfdZYWJEgNHMlj+AdO85eBfB1I 4GLJ3ZCKqLZoflDDhG+7uOltaaBl8OhN2xUuIBW7ng=) and I'd like to add a Geforce 6600GT 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814150080), NEC ND-3520A Beige IDE DVD Burner - OEM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16827152039) and 3 AllComponents 256MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM sticks. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820159309)

Thanks again!

Somewhere in your order it should say what you're motherboard is. Once you have that, you want to find support documents (either through Dell or independently) online. Keep in mind that PCI-E and PCI are two differnt things.

I haven't made my order yet. I wouldn't want to order it and then be unable to make the upgrades I want! The motherboard is not mentioned in the "Detailed View" section on pre-order page.

I owe you a beer. Make it a pitcher.

Looks like Dimension 3000 doesn't have AGP slots?:

Thank you for the kind words. /images/graemlins/smile.gif And because of your kind words youve motivated me to bring back news of the week this week. i took a little vacation from it as i have been working on new projects and taking on bigger and better roles at my 9-5 that have cut into my poker/2+2 time. Now that i got my new promotion (i get my sweet raise on monday and new job title), i dont have to bust my arse quiite as hard during the day and will hopefully have some more free time.... that and the fact that 65% of my work for the year at my 9-5 is already done for the year. Did i mention our fall board meeting is in vegas? Life is good /images/graemlins/grin.gif

You're welcome Cubswin. I think too few people realize how valuable you are to this site. The news of the week posts are great reading material and I have a lot of them bookmarked for references and research.
