Looking around on the net and I came across this, it looks pretty cool.

I'm skeptical of the following:

[ QUOTE ]
Rite of Passage Ceremony: The retreat weeks after Christmas break culminate in a dramatic rite of passage into adulthood. One or both parents join the participants for two days to give their son or daughter their blessings while consciously letting them go into adulthood.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds a little creepy.

I will say that I applaud considering alternatives to college. College is a pretty sweet place, but it's role in America as the default place to go after high school dilutes the experience. Many people who go to college don't really have any interest in the intellectual side of things; for those people, I think there really have to be better alternatives.

This looks like something you would do on your way to a college degree, not an alternative to college.
