From full tilt qualifier for a 2000 prize WSOP package. Only top 2 get packages, ~35 left from 170ish. I have 14k, villian has 7k. I was in roughly 4th position at this stage. I had shown down junk a while ago, but since then had been playin solid. I have AKo in MP, villian is UTG and opens to 900. Blinds were 150/300 a50. Villian hadn't done anything noticable. A raise to 3.5k is half his stack and if he flat calls and pushes the flop I will be pissed. I decided to just push it in pre-flop. Thoughts? How much would you raise it to or just flat call? Thanks in advance.

in a regular tourney i'd probably just flat call.
but due to the structure of only top 2 getting paid, i think the play is fine.

Yes, you want to build a stack and make a run for the final two. Pushing it in here is how you do that.
