why are these so cool? I don't know, they just are:

Stare at image, blur your eyes, see hidden image...

Some say that it helps to start with your eyes close to the screen and slowly move backward without refocusing your eyes.

It's a little easier on a computer screen than on paper. Try to focus on something 10-20 feet behind you through the reflection of your screen (you need proper lighting to get a good glare), and the 3D image should slowly come into focus. Either that or you will drive yourself insane and smash your computer. Sometimes you'll get an inverted 3D image if you're not properly focused.

I was always under the impression it wouldn't work on a monitor. It seemed like it took a bit longer to come into focus, but they are certainly visible.

Hmm... 1st one is a guy drinking out of a bottle. 2nd one is a big fish, probably a dolphin or a large tuna. 3rd on looks like a leaf, or a burning fire.

My method is basically to look at the image then go cross-eyed. This only gives me it inverted though, was never able to do it the proper way.

Thats cool, where did you get these? Btw the first one doesnt really look like a dog. Looks like something with the head of a sheep or camel, with the body of a greyhound.

Many years ago I remember seeing a program that let you create your own 'Magic Eye' pictures. Think OOT would have any fun with that??

I've got strabismus, an eye/neuro problem, so I can't normally see 3D, or these pictures, but poking my nose up to the monitor seemed to do it for me this time. The images vanished for me by the time I got a foot away from the monitor, though. My neurological problem "straightening the effect out" by ruining it, I guess.

I saw the shark facing left, saturn, the dog, the guy drinking from a bottle. They were not very detailed, but did look very 3D, which was cool. The shark was the hardest one for me to get focused at first, but the most detailed when I did.

These things are pretty cool.

TIMMY: You dipped the chip. You took a bite....And you dipped again.
GEORGE: So...?
TIMMY: That's like putting your whole mouth right in the dip!

my whole life, i've tried a million of them.

i'm still convinced that it's a giant scam and none of them actually have a 3d picture.

if you can see the picture, i hate you. the only person i hate more is the piece of dog [censored] that goes "just focus behind it!!!"

Mark another vote in the "I was never able to see these things, until this thread," column.

No dinosaur, though.

What shocks me is that once your eyes lock onto the image, it's so vivid, that you don't lose it if you lose focus for a moment--it's very easy to pick back up. After spending years of frustration trying to see ANYTHING, that was surprising.
