Here's another one from last night. It's PokerStars, so the play has a different feel to it (since it doesn't make sense to go all-in as much).

I had another table HU at the same time, so I was not paying quite as much attention here as I should. I'm also the big stack (for a change) and I'm not sure I used it as well as I should've.

At the bottom, I'll list the hands I think I should've played differently.

Hands I think I might've misplayed in white below:
<font color="white">
T6o SB - misclick on the raise size, but I think pressuring the 2nd stack is good, right?
AQo BB - I think my re-raise needed to be bigger
AJs - I should've slow-rolled my call just to rub it in (just kidding)

I may be the minority here but there is nothing wrong with seeing a flop with K3s even after his reraise. I call the reraise in this hand with your stack every time - then play the flop as it comes.

These are better hands than your previous HU post, but you also show much more solid play.

When in doubt and when you're not totally short stacked and not on Party, see more flops HU.

I don't believe there's any usual reason to make it 6x the BB here. 3-4 usually does the trick nearly as well IF you want to steal here.

I would never fold here either. Calling is fine. You have position and there is also 50 chips in antes in the pot. Most of these opponents at the lower buyins you can call any 2, and bet out about 300 on any flop and youll be +EV.

You might want to fold like the very worst hands so that they get the idea that you fold sometimes, but it's probably not even necessary. Another way to pacify them is to call preflop and just check it down sometimes.

It's my opinion that it's easier to play with smaller preflop raise sizes....but ok thats just a matter of opinion. I would like to be raising to 500-600, yet still see my opponent fold often, as opposed to raising to 800. Also I would call the reraise.

Also I don't mind just calling preflop (as opposed to raising) with this hand sometimes as well. It depends how things feel, but Ill basically never raise to 4x the BB with this kind of hand.

I don't believe there's any usual reason to make it 6x the BB here. 3-4 usually does the trick nearly as well IF you want to steal here.

Yep, this was just a misclick.

I would never fold here either. Calling is fine. You have position and there is also 50 chips in antes in the pot. Most of these opponents at the lower buyins you can call any 2, and bet out about 300 on any flop and youll be +EV.

This is good to know. This is one of those areas I never feel comfortable with -- a marginal hand facing a small raise.

Is this a situation where if I miss and get called or raised, I'm done with it?

It's my opinion that it's easier to play with smaller preflop raise sizes....but ok thats just a matter of opinion. I would like to be raising to 500-600, yet still see my opponent fold often, as opposed to raising to 800. Also I would call the reraise.

On party I normally would be raising 3BB, but I just wasn't sure what to do about those antes in there...

Scuba had a great post last week on HU play in response to a poster from MTT. He stated that it is read and situation related. Clearly if he pushes and you miss you're out. If you hit part of the flop and he min-raises when acting first - go with your read.

I feel like 2.5x the BB gets it done a lot of the time. It's important to raise as little as possible if it will have the same affect as a higher raise. Of course this really depends on the situation, and I definitely raise to 3x or more plenty. Just I don't think it's ALWAYS necessary to raise so much, however I also almost never min raise preflop.

On party I normally would be raising 3BB, but I just wasn't sure what to do about those antes in there...

I'm confused? no one has raised and you have 95o on the button. 95o in this situation is actually not a bad hand. The K3s hand is annoying if thats what you were referring to. I'd call but wouldn't be very happy about it.

These are better hands than your previous HU post, but you also show much more solid play.

I agree.

Dfscott:
Perhaps you would be better off not looking at your cards preflop.

Things to remember:
Just because you are getting rubbish cards doesn't mean your opponent isn't also.
Even when playing rubbish the flop is sometimes kind.
The gap concept also applies headsup.
When you are first to act, raise more, fold less.
Always give your opponent an opportunity to fold.
