it seems to me that if some one doesn't like a post, they have to say something like "this sucks, OOT used to be cool"

i have been on 2+2 for less than a year, so i can't tell if these people are naysaying dicks, or it's actually true

is it true?

OOT and 2+2 in general have definately gone downhill as the number of users has increased exponentially as of late. It makes sense I guess, the more people you have, the more complete morons your are bound to get.

Yes, the signal/noise ratio keeps getting worse every day.

You should have to pass some Ed Miller/bisonbison style quizzes before you are allowed to post anywhere but Politics. OOT needs some kind of breathlyzer and WPT posters accounts should just be permanently removed. Seriously, this is still the best poker site around and if you haven't found the archives yet, look into them.

Every message board I have ever lurked or posted on consistently has gone through this phase, with incessant whining about the glory days of the board and how quickly it's gone downhill.

Pretty soon the board becomes equally cluttered with posts complaining about the lack of quality posts on the board, posts complaining about the people complaining about other posters, and so forth. I look forward to it.

There's definite truth to this, but that doesn't negate the fact that OOT has pretty much sunk into the toilet. I'm not sure how it could get all that much worse, but I do know it's been much better. Not that it's the Algonquin round table here or anything, but really, how stupid can this stuff get? The character of the place has changed a lot, and not for the better. It's almost all lowest common denominator and shock value stuff by idiot teenagers now. It's about as fascinating as junior high.
