I'm trying to build my collection of baseball movies. What other good flicks am I missing?

61
Bull Durham
Field of Dreams
League Of Their Own
Little Big League
Major League
Natural
Pride Of The Yankees

I'm looking to get Angels in The Outfield and The Sandlot next. Any other glaring ommissions?

Yea, I love that movie. I would be shocked if I didn't hate the sequel though.

Little big league is one of the best movies of all time. What would you do if you were 13 and pwned the twins?

Also there are film versions of Damn Yankees...

Check out The Rookie, with Dennis Quaid. Based on a true story, it's a pretty straightforward kids/family movie, but I found it enjoyable anyway.

The Kid From Left Field is a great movie! The original (1953), not the remake with Gary Coleman.

There's a movie called Cobb I think. Also, one that starts President Reagan as I think Christy Mathewson or is it Grover Cleveland Alexander. I thought the baseball scenes in For Love of the Game were well done.

Summer Catch -- a below average movie (mildly entertaining) but did have a great bar scene where one player on the team professed his love for fat chicks. Also the chick in the movie was pretty hot.

I thought I was the only person in the country who liked "Cobb".

IMO, another must-see is "It Happens Every Spring". It was made in the 30's or 40's. Some professor is working on a way to magnetize wood. He accidentally stumbles upon a solution that REPELS wood. Put some on a baseball, and it's unhittable.

Stupid premise--gets even stupider when the professor tries to keep his invention secret, and protect his anonymity on his way to winning 30 games--but it's still worth watching once. Even though Ray Milland knocks Tim Robbins off the top of the "Best Actor to play a pitcher who throws like a girl" list.

Depends on how extensive you're looking to make your collection. Brewsters Millions has some baseball content. Ken Burns Baseball is excellent, although it's like a nine volume set. There's also the Scout, which isn't very good. I've never seen Damn Yankees, but I think it's considered a classic. One more that comes to mind that I've never seen is The Fan.

I am pretty sure that Comrads of Summer the game ends in a tie and the umpires (the guys in charge) decide to just take everything.

Its the f'king American pastime so unless this movie is about Cuban baseball then it is probably called Boys of Summer
