Just wondering how much more difficult it is from 1/2. I ran retardedly hot at 1/2 and made my 300BB for 2/4 in 6k hands, contemplating moving up, but a little uncertain if i Should. Is it a big jump? Thanks guys.

If retardedly hot means that you don't trust yourself to play well at 2/4, stay back a while. Let yourself hit the first bump in the road at 1/2 and see how things feel.

I started a thread about this last week. No one said they played there. I am currently playing the Paradise $2/4 and after 5500 hands I am -117BB.

I started with 400BB.

I see the same frequent cold-calling and failure to protect TPGK in multiway pots. I also see the routine call flop/fold turn, flop peelers, players married to pocket pairs, refusing to fold on dual overcard flops and heavy betting. I see all manner of donkish crap. I think it's just a coincidence that I moved up and started a downswing. It can't be that the players are that much better. Players do however, seem to fold more before the river. Less showdowns.

(I only had 15280 hands at the Paradise $1/2 at 1.65BB/100 before moving up.)

Maybe retardedly hot was the wrong way to describe it. I do feel that my big hands held up more often than the norm and my big draws came through a little more frequently than usual. I started 1/2 with a 70 BB downswing and after that its been mostly all up. Finished with 2.88BB/100 over 6,287 hands, so nothing spectacular and real small sample size.

Thanks for the input A C, I figured there wouldn't be a huge amount of difference but I always like to check in on things.

How are the 1/2 games at Paradise? I still have that bonus from Super Bowl weekend sitting around over there and need to get over there to clear it at some point.

I've found them to be pretty darn loose. Lot's of fishy players, though I have no other sites to compare it to as paradise is the only site I currently play. Overall I would have to say most of the players play poorly.

I play everything from $1/2 to $5/10 at Paradise, with the vast majority of my hands coming from the $2/4 to $3/6 level.

I'm in the process of moving my money to Party, but can't find a decent rakeback deal. Should it be hard? Damn.

Anyway, there's not much appreciable difference from $1/2 to $2/4. A better player here and there, but like you say you'll still see the same crappy cards shown down, the same mind-boggling passive players, and the same bonehead agressiveness that is just way over the top and guaranteed to lose money. More or less it's the same faces at both levels. Paradise is a smallish site compared to Party, so even at the higher levels I'll be familiar (100> hands) with players at almost any table.

Hope this helped.

Does anyone play $1/2 5-max at Paradise? I always see tons of games running.

Try looking for rakebacks from one of party's skins. Empire affiliates usually offer 26%

I do sometimes. Pretty loose passive, almost as bad as party.

If you have the roll, might as well head over to party 2/4. It's not much different from .5/1.
