alright here are the rules

Location: Pokerstars .02/.04 HU tables
Format: Double Elimination Bracket
Entry Fee: $5 plus required BB's for match, all money from match wins are not part of tourney prize
Payout: top8. 40%1st, 20%2nd, 10%3rd, 4th .. 5% 5th-8th
Round length: 72hrs, match must be completed and reported in that time

All matches will be 50BB freezeouts, both players start with $2 on the table, match ends when I player has all $4 .. no rebuys

the players list is not the seeding for the tournament, which will be done randomly after confirming entries

also though the poll suggestted a compromise for entry fee, I'll let majority rule of the ppl approved to determine the official fee

so everyone listed, please check in, also state your preference of entry fees .. 0, 5, 10

the bracket and first round pairings will be posted after confirming players

entry fee is due before the end of the first round, sent interaccount transfer to my stars account, where it will remain till tournament is completed, I'll handle the payout of prizes

any player in the tournament who does not transfer the entry fee to my account before the end of the first round, will be eliminated from the competition

anyone who signed up but isn't on the list is someone, who either had a very small post count, or I didn't recognize your name from Micros .. if you feel you were left out PM me and I'll consider adding you

I hope to have the bracket ready to go by Friday afternoon

my main concern regarding the ppl left off was most haven't had a history on the board, and this tourney will not work if its plagued with no shows(my biggest fear regarding this)

so I included ppl I felt had a high likelyhood of showing up and playing it through

also the reason I went double elimination is that Swiss is effectively a double elim tourney(if you get 2 losses, you can't top8 most of the time, especially if the second loss happens before the final round, or if you lose opening round) but I felt many of the rounds after the second will begin to show disinterest on the players parts

if this goes well, and the desire is there I am very willing to run another one of these this summer sometime, my suggestion to all those left off, please make an agressive effort to contribute to the forums ..

Heya. Im totally confirming. Also, entry fee is irrelevent to me, so whatever. Might i suggest however in collecting entry fees before bracketing, that way if someone is a no show you can simply give them the loss and advance the other player.

I think this could be a problem. Against 2 evenly matched players (good or bad) this could last a very long time. I'd suggest 25 BB buyins.

25BB in a HU match is nothing more than seeing who is a better luckbox. I think 50 might actually be a bit too small, but given that most of us arent that familiar with HU matches, perhaps will offer the best balance between luck and skill...

First off, exactly what time/day is the tournament going to be? I need to make sure that I dont have class/other commitments before I send the money. Also, I would suggest limiting the bracket to 32 players, and maybe creating a "waitlist" as invariably not all 64 players who sign up will show up or pay.

each round will have a 72hr time limit for you and your opponent to complete your match

if its not sufficient to a large % of the field it will be extended, but in favor of hopefully keeping this going quickly that will be a last resort

there is too much demand to limit to 32, also payment is due upfront so no-shows aren't as big of deal, albeit someone getting more than 1 would be bad

I think it's that everyone is going to have 3 days to schedule a match with the person they're paired with. The tournament will run over a couple weeks. If you have, say a solid week where you can't play poker, don't sign up. If you're just worried about intermitant other commitments that might prevent you from playing during a particular two hour time slot, don't sweat it. You can work out a different time with your opponent that round.

From someone who played in the 1st 2 HULA leagues as well as the HUSH league. 50BBs could lead to some marathon matches. I had a couple 300+ hand matches with 30BB stacks. I know of other people who went much longer.

It might not be a bad idea to put a time limit on the matches just to keep people from playing all day.
