71 players today, and I'm the only American.

Surprisingly, someone other than me took the initial rebuy.

I get 752 on the first hand, and pick up a four, but can't stop pairing.

An amazing number of hands are being won with nines and jacks, even 4- or 5-handed.

I finally make what has to be considered a showdown hand in this game -- 87652 -- and pick up a 1600 chip pot.

The next showdown is a KT against a K8.

We're down to 49 left already.

754 in the BB, I draw 32 and bust two players, though both rebuy. Now 4th of 45.

Sorry, not able to get home early today to play. I might set my alarm and play early Friday morning (but don't bet on it) /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Someone asked my in my poker blog why I play at 24hPoker. My primary reason is pot-limit draw with a decent selection of cash games, and SNGs and MTTs not currently available anywhere else online. But my second reason is that the 24h players (with a few exceptions) are complete dopes when it comes to rebuy tournaments, which is surprising considering how common small buy-in rebuy tourneys are at this site. A very small percentage of the field will take immediate rebuys, a LOT of players do not rebuy when they bust, and usually only about half of the players left at the end of rebuys take the add-on. This makes cashing in these events pretty easy since you are essentially starting with twice or three times as many chips as most of your opponents.

I did manage to lose money cashing in an event once (about 3 weeks ago). It was an Omaha/8 event with a €15 buyin that allowed 1 rebuy and 1 addon. I was in for the full €45 in an event where most players did not rebuy or addon. I ended up taking the lowest spot that was paid and got like €37 back /images/graemlins/blush.gif I played this same event this last Sunday and won the event. I did end up in the black that time /images/graemlins/wink.gif

The TD tournaments you can buyin with VIP points, but not rebuy, which I suspect accounts for some of it.

I was dealt several mediocre pat hands in a row, and up and down making 87s. There's an aggressive player at my table who knows what he's doing, and is now the big stack. Then I get 7542 in the BB and everyone folds.

I get 742 on the button and 3-bet an UTG raise hoping to get the chipleader in the BB out. He four-bets me, I don't improve, and I run away.

30 players left at the addon, 12 spots will pay.

Make that 29 left, I guess a hand took a long time somewhere. The four shortest stacks have 135, 85, 85, and 5 chips, and obviously didn't add on. 16 added on.

There's also an apparent bug player, who's never had a table or moved from his starting chip count. Tom, have you run into this?

The former chipleader has taken several big hits, and a couple of small ones from me, and his stack's about the size of mine now.

87642 was good enough to but a shortstack, and I'm now 7th of 25.

Yeah, I've seen this a few times, but usually when somebody busts out and their table is broken. Everything has always cleared up by the end of the tourney-I've never been ripped off or shortchanged on account of this.

I'm not particularly worried about it, but emailed support anyway.

I hate 23456. Currently 12th of 23.
