The developer of PlayerView (which I have tested, purchased, use daily and love) has inspired me to share a tool I created for my personal use. I am giving it away during the testing phase, so I trust this will not be a violation of the rules and regs of this site.

WScrollv1.exe helps players manage multiple tables by placing in view only those tables that need attention. All other tables are out of sight and out of the way. Please download WScroll and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Pat

guppie,

Look at this from my view, I'm walking through the airport with out a dime to my name and only the clothes on my back, off to my left I see nice piece of luggage and no one is around, I wait a 1/2 hour and no one has come to claim it.

Is it a bomb or the goods that i need, do you see how funny this is...

I'll have to get out the bomb detector just to check this thing out and you with only 3 posts, man doesn't look good on the surface LOL /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can you give us anymore info on what it is, yeah I know, don't look a gift horse in the mouth but...

Valid points. The link is to a website. The sites at geocities are often named after the email address of the user which is the case here.

Yes, I would be skeptical also in your position. To be on the safe side, scan the file with your antivirus software. You will find it is safe. You will also note that the program does not try to access the internet (which you should be blocking with your firewall anyway). It runs locally on your machine. Period.

It is a simple program that hides the windows you don't need to deal with at the moment. It scrolls through all game windows and, when it is time to take action, it pops the window up on your desktop. That's all there is too it.
It's so simple, I'm surprised no one else has offered one for sale.

Thanks for your interest.

Ok, I trusted you and took the next step. No virus, but no executable either. All that opens is a .txt file of code that does nothing.

Yes, as explained on my website, just change the .txt to .exe and you're good to go. Thanks for taking the leap.

In my hurry to get the word out I ended up causing a lot of confusion by not explaining myself. Marketing is obviously not my forte.

As an online poker addict, I often play four to eight tables. As with most poker addicts this is a very stressful and frustrating endeavor what with clicks on wrong buttons, wrong tables, missed opportunities, etc.

I found that the tables would automatically pop into view from a hidden state when they need attention . All I needed to do was write a script that would hide the windows I didn't need to deal with right at the moment. The task was to find the best way for the program to determine when to hide the window and how long to keep the window visible so the player can act on it.

After several different approaches over a few weeks, I settled on a program that made my life much easier when multi-tabling. I continued to use the tool exclusively for about another month with no problems.

I found that, for me, the best combination was to hide all windows except the lobby, which is minimized. Once they pop up for attention I keep the windows visible for ten seconds, then hide them until action needs to be taken.

I'm considering reducing the visibility time to eight seconds or adding a sliding scale with which the user can change the amount of time he has available to act. Right now, even if a window times out on my tool (ten seconds) before action is taken, the window will pop up again in time to act before it times out at the casino.

In the year since I started playing, I've seen many comments from other players complaining of mistakes made due to multiple tables. I searched online for any tool that did what my tool did but found nothing except one that actually folds or bets the hole cards for you. As this is a violation of all poker site rules, I thought maybe I had something that would be of value to other players.

So, this is the tool. If people like it, I might make some money from online poker despite myself. If they don't, I'll just keep it for my own use.

I'm also almost done with a tool that will be a free but seperate program to make all windows visible. Or I might make it a "pamic button" on the first tool. While not necessary, the tool could ease user's nervousness about windows they haven't seen for a while. I found myself worrying that something had gone wrong when windows stayed hidden for long periods of time. Most of the time, there was not problem. Once in a while, a table I had lost all my chips on would, of course, stay hidden because there was nothing else to act on. Since most players would like to close the table or add more chips, I should have the second tool ready in a week or so.

My next project will be a console that lists all tables, shows the user's hand at each table and has radio buttons the user can select for his next move. The console will then activate the buttons on the correct table, eliminating any misclicks on wrong buttons or tables. It will also reduce or eliminate missed oportunities. The console could be used with or without WScroll.exe. This will take some political work with the sites since it WILL make the bets or folds for the user and will technically be in violation of site rules. It will, however, not be in violation of the spirit of the rules since the user determines what actions will be taken, not the console.

Let me get this right, your intending on charging money for this tool (WScroll)? In that case i can notify you that i'm using a tool that does more or less the same (smarter if you ask me), that's coming out soon, and it's free.

I'm not surprised. I never said the tool was so sophisticated that no one else could ever come up with something as good or better. What did surprise me is that I could not find anything out there that did what my tool did.

Again, if it's useful and you're not a programmer who could easily create your own, you might be willing to purchase it. If not, that's fine too.

WShow will bring all hidden tables back to view in the desktop. While usually not necessary, it will help calm your nerves until you get used to tables being hidden from view by WScroll.exe. It also allows you to replenish chips or leave tables that otherwise do not require attention.

Remember both files download as .txt files in your browser. You need to save the files as .exe files and you're ready to go.

WShow is freeware and will not have any time restrictions. It may be incorporated into WScroll at a later date. The latest version of WScroll will work until May 21, 2005 at which time you can download again until the beta test is complete.

Thank you to all who tried our beta version of WScroll. Thank you also to 2+2 publishing (who has no position on the value of this program) for allowing this thread to exist.

WScroll will remain available as freeware until 5/29/05 after which time it will be available for $25. To order, contact Pat at guppie1@sbcglobal.net

FishFinder finds the players you want to play against WHILE THEY ARE STILL AT A TABLE.

We've all tried to find fish with the PartyPoker search tool. But by the time we search 100 names, the fish we found have left to another table.

And how can we find which tables have the most fish playing?

FishFinder will find your prey quickly and easily. Search thousands of names in as little as 5 minutes. As always, it's available as a free demo prior to purchase.

Due to Party Pooper closing my account and stealing more than $600 from me, I am recalling all tools. I have no reason to believe these tools were the reason but, to avoid any one else meeting the same fate, I choose to err on the side of caution.

Full refunds will be given to all buyers.

I've started a thread to bring all PP horror stories to one location. Please contribute if you are so inclined.

Guppie, I have been monitoring your other threads about your problems with Party and I understand you are upset, but you need to stop and think about the software you were using and Party's position. I believe you can straighten things out with them and get your money back if what you say is true.

On the issue of the software you have developed I cannot see why there would be any issues with them. The problem with Party when you ask a question is it gets routed thru people who either don't know what you are talking about, or cannot communicate with you.

The one question I have is with FishFinder; you mention it searches thru I believe 11K names - where is that stored?

The lists are stored on the user's computer after downloading with the program.

If you mean "Where are the lists available for download?" I don't wish to promote FishFinder at this time.

A strict interpretation of "no automation" would include FishFinder and the other tools.

While I strongly believe these tools do not violate the letter or the spirit of PP's rules, there is no means of conducting a two-way conversation with these people. They could just have tape recordings instead of live people in the investigations department and save a lot of money.

Without any kind of response from PP I cannot give users any kind of assurance that their accounts will not be closed and funds seized.

FYI: None of my tools were running on my computer during the time PP started warning me and then closed my account a week later. I do not consider any of my tools "poker bots" in that they do not make any AI decisions for the player. PP may have a different opinion but it is impossible to find out what that opinion is.

Did they mean "exist on your computer" when they said "running on your computer"? I don't know but I think they have a good command of the English language and would not make that mistake.

Other poker sites are salivating at the thought of taking market share from PP. Perhaps they might be willing to be more forthright about their rules to attract players. Many sites, in fact, have been more specific in their objections as noted elsewhere in this forum.

I would love to "work this out" with PP and get my money back. Any suggestions how this might be accomplished with people who can only say "I'm sorry but you violated the TOC. No, we cannot tell you how you violated the TOC."? I was able to get a supervisor on the line who repeated the same mantra but was willing to look at my case if I resent my emails to PP to her. That was a week ago and, big surprise, no response.

I was becoming more and more unhappy with PP long before this became an issue. Poor customer service, disconnects, server crashes, etc. I am no longer angry at PP and am actually happy to be playing elsewhere.

I do feel it is important to make all users aware of this affair with PP so they can make their own judgments.
