I just got back from the caribbean and lost the piece of paper with the name of this certain cigar but I think it was Royal Barbados. It's touted as a cigar made from tobacco grown in Barbados but from Cuban tobacco seeds. Then the production is ala Cubans, hand rolled etc so that they are of equal quality.

Anyone hear of these and/or tried them?

Anybody?

Never heard of them, but there's a million and one different types of cigars you can get down there.

The real question is, "How is it?"

I've never smoked one myself, but I've heard good things.

There are an awful lot of cigars that claim to be made in the cuban style from cuban seed elsewhere in the carribean. Try a cigar magazine, they'll tell you what's good.

Generally, using the phrase 'made from cuban seed tobacco' or something similar is a sign of a cheap gimmick cigar.

Don't put much stock in cigar magazines, especially cigar aficionado. Their ratings are far from unbiased.

Alright, well listen to Inthacup, he seems to know what he's talking about.

There's a brand at my local shop called Pinars that was imported from Cuba before the embargo. Probably not what you were thinking of, but still an interesting buy.

I didn't actually buy one, opted for the real thing while down there but someone said they were a good alternative that you could legally bring into the states.

You knew you legally could bring the real thing back, right?
