Which laser detector should i buy?

Which is the best laser detector to get, i think ive narrowed it down to either the escort solo :

or the valentine 1 :

I have never heard one person that owns a valentine one and has been dis-satisfied by their purchase. Do it cheaper, get it off ebay.

I have used both (the escort I had was an older model, I have the current Valentine One), and hands-down you should get the Valentine One. The directional arrows are a HUGE convenience, and once you've had them you'll wonder why anybody uses a detector that doesn't have them.

And for what it's worth, I have never talked to anybody who has owned the V-1 and would consider buying something else. (I have talked to probably 6 owners.)

I have the V1. Go with the V1.

BTW, it's impossible to detect laser radar detectors in time to slow down. Austin PD occasionally set up speed traps with laser detectors, there's quite a few undercover patrol cars as well but they're really obvious (white crown vics with antennas, bumper upgrade, spotlight on left sideview mirror).

Get the Solo. FWIW, I almost bought a V1 for the arrow feature but they are no good in hilly areas. I own a X50 and I have no regrets. You should consider getting an X50, if you're willing to overlook the fact that it has a cord (but no need to replace batteries)
