View Full Version : PPM soft fields?

I was surprised by the poor quality of play that seemed to make-up the field for the PPM's semi's. I had noticed it in the round ones that I had played, but had thought it would get filtered out by having to win to get to the semi's. The average stack was $2500, out of a possible $3000, which means these players were playing live on Party for a good bit of time. My question is, where the heck have they been hiding?

About half of the players I had never played with, before this week. And several of these players won seats, among the players that you would expect to win.

With the over 400 free PPM buy-ins, given out this week, I plan to play PPM RD1's this weekend and see if I can pick up a win or two for the next round of semi's.

Even though I didn't win, again, I'm happy that there is a promotion on the net which allows me to play with players of this....ah...caliber, when there is alot of money on the line.

I played two tournies on stars last night...it was total culture shock. I had at least 4 players at my initial table in the pot limit than who were probably better than any player I was at any table with in the PPM2.

I really think the PPM brings soft net newbies to their site, the kind that are poker newbies. I didn't play PPM's this weekend, played alot of 1-tables though, but I did play one PPM, this morning. 7 new players, and for me new=incrediblity bad for these. Two were decent players the other five needed one of those cards telling them what beat what. So, I picked up a cheap win with my freeroll that Party gave us for the first slow tournament that was stopped.

I want more promotions were I get to play with weak players, it's my only chance.

Yeah, the fields do seem ridiculously weak even to me, and I don't exactly consider myself to be a great player. I also turned my freebie into a berth in the next semifinal round...

You definately came 3rd.

The alien invasion fleet has reached 52 now.

I wonder if the software is storing all the names, and at what number it will finally pack up and blow everyone's money across the planet.

It's a bit slow everywhere tonight, I might well go to propoker, I havent won a pot yet, but if i bust out without winning a single hand, I am going to mail them and ask if I can have another $21 bux, because I would like to check out the sound effects for winning a pot before I put in any real money.

From the website:

The buy-in is only $25! Winners go to the Semi's and the 2nd and 3rd place finishers get a FREE buy-in to play again. Play as many times as you like.

Hope that clears things up.

Two nights ago, The invasion fleet was thankfully sent into darkness.

This however was not the end of the matter, they are regrouping and have amassed 12 new members.

I think they are beaming up the anonymous and beaming back down the registered, I can think of no other totally logical explanation.

PS: I will not be reducing my posts here now I have my new position, but I will NOT be cross posting, so don't be lazy, come and give me some grief.

Table "Under the deck" has been completely removed, and replaced with the less catchy "Card Room Table 637"

There are only 2 spectators there, although there are 20 at the rather aptly named "Round the Corner" table above it.

I think Party are struggling to fix this bug, /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
