Fast Times can't compete with either of the two powerhouses listed before it.

I think it's pretty close, with FBDO being the obvious favorite to win.

I picked Risky Business.

I gotta go with Bueller, but it was tough to vote against Pheobe Cates' and Jennifer Jason Leigh's breasts.

Phoebe Cates' Boobies.
Jeff Spicoli.
Mr. Hand
Hotdog on a Stick.
Phoebe Cates' Boobies.

We have a winner.

Tough choice. Pretty hard to compete with "Guido the killer pimp", but I still choose Fast Times and would still put FB #2 over RB.

Quick trivia!!! Who was one of the dancers on the float with Ferris when he sings Twist & Shout?? (Oh, but unfortunately...can't remember the answer, but she's hot and popular)

istewart, you pwne! i looked at your list and thought, there have to be some better 80s teen movies than these. so i thought about it. then i looked. these really are the only three that are close. i would not have guessed this list could be so easy.

Fast Times is in a league of its own.

Pat Benetar look-alikes

Mr. Vargas' field trip to the Hospital

Phoebe and Jennifer practicing bjs with carrots

Great Supporting Cast (Anthony Edwards, Forrest Whitaker, Nicolas Cage, Eric Stoltz)

No shirt, no shoes, no dice.......

The list goes on and on

Glad I was a Freshmann in HS when the movie came out.

Based upon my HS /images/graemlins/grin.gif

For the doubters (http://www.answers.com/topic/fast-times-at-ridgemont-high)

"The story is loosely inspired by the year Cameron Crowe, then in his early 20s, spent impersonating a high school student at Clairemont High School in San Diego, California. He went undercover to do research for his 1981 book Fast Times at Ridgemont High: A True Story, about his observations of the high school and the students he befriended there."

My AP english teacher was his contact and the only person at the school aware that he was no longer a student. She was only one of few teachers still there, but the locations and stuff are all funny to relate to my real life.

Like it or not, the list is not complete without The Breakfast Club.

For me? Fast Times. I think most who went to highschool between '79-86 would probably pick this.

Between that and Dazed and Confused, it pretty much sums up my highschool dayze. It really triggers some good memories.

I like the other 2. It's just they don't strike near the familiar cord that Fast Times does.

Nice poll. When I saw the subject these are the three movies that came to mind.

FBDO.

I agree that Breakfast Club immediately comes to mind along with these other three. I'd say Breakfast Club is probably the better movie of the four, but I enjoy all of them when they come on TV.

Anyone else bothered by the abortion stuff in Fast Times? It seems totally out of place in an otherwise pretty lighthearted movie. She's pregnant, the film gets all serious, she has an abortion, and then it's back to shenanigans. Always bothered me...

Nope! But if you did, and you still pick the inferior movie, it says more about your biased objectivity than the quality of the actual flicks.

what i think is happening here:

if you attended:
high school from 1975-1986: fast times
high school from 1986-2000: ferris bueller

me: fast times.

The quality is about the same.

One is ensemble, one isn't. One's more realistic view, one is more fantasy. One is basically about one person, maybe 3. The other is about 8+.

If you went to school during the Fast Times years, you would see it differently too.
And vice versa.

Of the three choices, yes. However, Fast Times is perfectly early 80's, and Breakfast Club is perfectly mid-late 80's.

Breakfast Club rocked.

I think that would've been a better/more interesting movie for the vote than Risky Business.

I don't see Fast Times as a 'lighthearted' movie. FBDO is about shenanigans. Fast Times is about the people participating in the 'shenanigans'

It actually pained me to choose. I voted for Risky Business because Rebecca DeMornay was HOT!!!, but FBDO is just a hella good movie. FTARH is a very good movie, but can't compete with the other two.
