My brother who does not tend to embellish just got back from vegas with his gf. They stayed at the Bellagio and were to pay the regular rate.

He went to the Poker Room and both him and his gf got rating cards. They signed in every morning and played a few hands and then did whatever for the rest of the day and signed out late every night. After a couple of days they checked to see if they qualified for the Poker Room rate and were told the did and their room rate was adjusted down significantly to the Poker rate.

They continued their routine for the rest of their stay and when he went to check out he was told that he and his gf played so much that the room was completely comped and they owed nothing.

I was very skeptical and said he must have been "high rolling" at the BJ table but he said he played only a little BJ at low limits and never even got rated for BJ.

I believe him because he's not a bullshiiter but this has to be some kind of screw up by the Casino. Anyone else ever hear of someone getting completely comped at the Bellagio for playing Poker?

no way. if he got comped, it wasn't for poker. I've played 80/160 12hours a day for a week and never got better than the poker rate.

That's what I was thinking too.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but they were getting credited for playing all day every day when in reality they were out doing other things?

Yes that's correct. Their system of tracking is not good. Once the floor supervisor signs you in, he has no way of really keeping track of you.

Forgive me for my ignorance.

I'll be down during the first weekend in June, and am staying at Bellagio. My most expensive night is Saturday night (the 4th? I think) and I'm paying $330.00 for it.

Any chance they're going lower than this with the "poker rate"? I plan on playing in their 1K tourneys, and a few hours of 15/30.

I believe him but obviously have some doubt or I wouldn't have posted about this.

You should be able to get the poker rate but not right away. Get a rating card when you first go to the poker room and ask them the minimum hours of play required and sign in and out as you play. If you do the required minimum they will lower your room rate to the poker rate.

What actually happened was his gf lost a bundle at Roulette (number 22 I do believe). Toro's brother then talked to the GM and said something like 'refund our money, Bellagio has Heart, Christmas in Vegas...' /images/graemlins/laugh.gif
