General question about pushing

3 players. Hero has monster chip leap on the button. SB is very short stack, and BB in medium stack. Should the button almost always push?

Depends how short stacked is short stacked. If SB calls the all-in, your fold equity against BB is very diminished (If he calls, the only way he finishes in 3rd is if he loses to you and small stack beats both of you).

IMO, if shorty still has 2 or so BBs left after posting, I think push any two is good.

It also depends on the size of the medium stack. When I have position (and the villains cooperate) I can keep shorty in the game by throwing the occasional set of blinds his way, and grind away at Mr Medium. In the situation you describe, I would fold my SB almost every time, and raise the button just as often.

When I have t6000 and both my opponents have t1000 or less, I like my chances at first.
