HAs a site ever tried to offer a percentage of a player's rake directly back to the player? I would be willing to take a much lower % of the rake back if I could deal directly with the site and not have to worry if I am beaking the rules, or if my affliiate is going to decide to disappear some month. I wouldn't even mind it if they had some sort of sliding scale on number of hands played, etc.

It seems to me that it would be a benefit to everyone involved, and would be attractive to both the fish and the pros alike. If I was just starting out, and knew that I would get a certain % back if I played a lot of hands, I think it would seem pretty attractive to me.

Well, different sites "charge" different amount in rake. A site that takes less of a rake in a way is giving you instant rakeback.

This method works really well for Pokerchamps.

I guess that's true, but definitely doesn't serve as quite the motivation ot most people. Even though I understand that it is exactly the same, it's nice to get that big check at the end of the month.

A site giving direct rakeback is pointless... it's just lowering the rake.

???

Except that the site would be able to offer different levels of rakeback for different types of players. People with more volume would be able to get more of their rake back. This would be a good way to attract high-volume players, imo.

Some of the crypto's are direct... kind of. You still need to go through an affiliate, but the site directly puts the money in your account each month.

Pokerroom used to give money back per hand or player points, I forget which.

You'd think that, but what about Discover card offering cash back on purchases. Must have some effect or they woulnd't advertise it.

That's just the thing, though, there is a huge difference in willingness to pay between the pros and the fish. The fish play far less often and with a completely different goal than the sharks, and are quite willing to play in games with extraordinarily high rake.

I'm not sure what problem most people seem to have with the current Party rakeback situation. It works beatifully, and despite the official protests of iGlobal, will never go away: they don't want it to go away. It is a great price-discrimination method that keeps their valuable high-volume players happy while still making a high profit margin on the recreational player. The pro of course would prefer that the rake shear the sheep a bit slower, but thus is the price paid for easy access to thousands of sheep.

The current system is indeed highly "unfair" to those not endowed with a rake-back deal, but works just fine for those in the know.

As have been mentioned, PokerChamps has direct rakeback as a big part of their business plan, and you can get up to about 80% rakeback, I believe, if you can get a non-playing friend to refer another non-playing friend who then refers you, so that you get all three levels of rakeback.

Some of the PokerRoom skins do this, on a sliding scale all the way up to 40%.

A big affiliate (that is against rakeback) posted this on Casinomeister.

"Party is stopping rakeback that is offered by affiliates. They are planning a very agressive program with incentives to individual players from what I hear. I don't think they will be losing any large players."

Sitting at home receiving all of my rakeback payments on time and in full. I'll believe the death knells of rakeback when I see it actually happen. I am quite confident that in a year from now I will still be receiving rakeback payments from Party skins.

Or if they only marketed it to higher volume players. That's why some sites are now doing direct rake back, but you still have to sign-up through a rake back affiliate to be eligible.

I don't like that you are "in" or "out" at sign-up. Every member at a site should have the same opportunities - it should not depend on wether you missed something at sign-up.

Could try PokerChamps and BetOnBet(pokerroom.com skin)
