And they all speak this really weird language that I don't understand.

About 95% of Montrealers (that's where in Quebec this rocket scientist was) speak fluent english. Many english Montrealers don't speak a word of french and are able to get along just fine.

The difference between the laws you mentioned and the chewing gum law in Signapore is that the loony US laws aren't actively enforced.

Also, many of the laws that are listed in those "Loony Laws" lists are either complete fabrications, extreme interpretations of real laws, laws that are no longer on the books, or are laws that were enacted for specific reasons many many years ago and were never removed from the books.

For instance, you'll often see quoted a law where it is "illegal to ride a (insert bizarre animal here) through town". In reality, the law says that you can't ride *any* animal through town, but was written specifically with horses in mind (but they thought they'd cover all their bases by specifying "any animal"). The loony laws site will then twist it around to say "In Syracuse NY, it is illegal to ride a giraffe through town".

The 4 winners are Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai (who recently starred in Bride and Prejuice), Lara Datta, and Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka is a real hottie. I would direct you to links but I have no idea how to do that stuff.
