the second one is so much better, becauswe it gives incentive u play aggressiveley on bubble. The 45/45/10 is a satelite like payout

No question the second is better. In the first option third ends up down money while there is no difference between first and second. Whats the benefit in building up a big stack on the bubble if it has no effect once your down to HU play?

The first one sucks, for all the reasons mentioned. However, something like this might be interesting:

1st = 40% 2nd = 25% 3rd = 20% 4th = 15%

Since it would mean a huge ITM% for good players vs fish and the jump between 1st and 2nd is enough to make playing for 1st worthwhile. (ie: 1st+4th>2nd+2nd)

I would prefer

1st: 30%
2nd: 20%
3rd: 50%

Why? I would make more money.

It'd be fun to play a tourney like this just to watch everybody trying to go out 3rd. I'd be so pissed when my 39 sucked out on some dudes ak

I like having a difference in payouts for first and second. Playing against an opponent who folds a lot heads up is fun.

ok maybe this will change your mind

how about

1st = 45%
2nd = 45%
3rd = 10%

vs

1st = 45%
2nd = 27%
3rd = 18%

This is because you dont pay any rake charge for the first one!!!

Does this make any difference?

Psychologically it'd be rough, and the variance and ROR would be a bit unruly, but I would make the most money if the structure were 100% 1st.

So instead, how about 65% 1st, 25% 2nd, 15% 3rd? Or 75% 1st, 25% 2nd? Comments?

It would be way too top heavy, penalizing the fish further. Remember that they need encouragment by making some money now and then, otherwise they will play something else.

I think the current structure is fine.
