If you answer yes to the poll question, reply with a post of who (if you want).

No one on this forum is famous enough to be assasinated. Not even Dead.

Actually, maybe Raymer is?

There are days I really wish dead would live up to his name

haha, good point.

Although, from what i can tell, a lot of people don't like Vince Lepore too much. I'd bet if this were in the WPT forum, he would get a heavy response. I'm sure there are others too.

Assassinations aren't necessarily only for famous people. It just means it's done in a stealthy way.

Edit: Now that I've said this, I realize this is just kind of floating in the back of my brain somewhere and might not be correct...

Wikipedia:

In its most common use, assassination has come to mean the murder of an important person, although the term really refers to murder via stealth.

Meh.

finish the definitions... someone's character.

According to Webster there it has nothing to do with fame. I find that surprising as I thought it was only for famous people:

Main Entry: as·sas·si·nate
Pronunciation: &-'sa-s&n-"At
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): -nat·ed; -nat·ing
1 : to injure or destroy unexpectedly and treacherously
2 : to murder by sudden or secret attack usually for impersonal reasons

Fair enough. I thought the italics meant it was an example, not necessarily the text of the definition.

You are right, I think it is meant to imply not physical harm in that def. though.

Interesting to see how different the definitions are depending upon the source.

Yeah, a lot of definitions will vary greatly depending on the source. Dictionary.com really sucks though for things like this. Prety crappy dictionary. MW is much better if you're looking for a strict definition online. If you want to learn a little more about something, anything really, Wikipedia is pretty much the greatest site ever.

For most intents and purposes dictionary.com works well enough for me.

Wikipedia is amazing when I want something in depth. Actually I think I have typed words in my Trillian chats just to see what wikipedia had to say /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
