An Interesting HORSE Hand

Here is an interesting HORSE hand I played last week at the Plaza's $1500 buy-in event.

Someone asked that I post more hands, so here you go (of course, he was asking about Stud hands, but then I remembered this hand and I decided I couldn't help but post it).

The HORSE tourney had been going on for about three hours. Although we started with 3000 chips, and the structure was so excellent that it played like a cash game, I had gotten beat up badly and was very low on chips. I think we were at the 100/200 level and I had only 660 chips remaining.

Just in time, I caught A234, double suited. I raised it up, only to get re-raised and called in at least two places.

The flop came down: 36K with two hearts, which was the suit of my suited ace.

I bet out, and got called in just one place, the re-raiser. He was an extremely loose player and too much of a calling station in many ways. I'd played against him before in the $1000 Stud tourney at Foxwoods.

The turn and the river were total blanks, not even completing my low.

I bet on the turn, and then put in my last 60 chips on the river. He mucked face up, in disgust. A345.

We would have split the pot. I didn't show.

I had some life left and went on to take 5th place.

I like the way you played this hand, but wonder what you think of your opponent's fold on the river. You kept firing, but in O8 there is always that suspicion that the bettor is on the big draw and it's tough to table a pair of 3's with a hopeful heart. But sixty bucks? Would you have called in his place?

I would never have gotten this far into the hand. A rock (me) who raises preflop? At the very least I'd have to put her on A2xx, and that would be at the very least. What is A345 in the face of A234 ds?

But if I'd stubbornly continued on in the hand, with the three coming out right on the flop, knowing the A2 would be the best low, and my having the A4 with no real other draws, then the rock bets her case 60, and I have about 10k in chips, no way I wouldn't throw out 60 and see her hand.
