Just got back after a week in Vegas (maybe I'll write a report, maybe not), but I have to say the Luxor Baby No Limit game was softer than a pre-Viagra old-folks home.

The deal is thus: $50 buy in min and max. When you drop below $50 (to, say $49) you can rebuy for another $50. Blinds are 1-1-2 (and the odd blind structure seems to greatly encourage fishing).

I played 3-4 times (I was staying there for a convention). Generally, the table would have 1-2 folks who had any clue at all (including a couple of times a local pro/semi-pro I had played with before), 3-4 drunks (one time the dude next to me couldn't even speak he was so plowed), and 3-4 total *frickin* beginners. I was giggling with joy: beginners playing no-limit when a $2-4 table was right next door. Thank you WPT and Celebrity Poker!

My strategy was simple: play my usual game, try not to tangle with those with skill on marginal/speculative calls (skill was usually, though not always commensurate with stack size), then hammer the snot out of beginners (and especially) drunks.

Example hands:

- I limp in in LP with J-9s (marginal, but it was just $2) and the flop brings be a flush with one of the cards being a K. I bet $15 (about the pot), the drunk next to me slurrily calls then asks if he can go all-in. Dealer says no, he already called. Turn is a blank so I put him all in and say "*Now* you can go all in". Of course he does. River is another blank, we flip and he proudly shows his King-small unsuited and has to be 'splained that he lost to a flush. Thanks, buddy, please rebuy (he does).

- I have AA in MP and simply limp in knowing one of two other guys playing at being Gus Hansen will raise. Thankfully, *both* raise (to about $40) and I push in about 150 bones. BOTH call (one with about 80 the other had me covered). The guy who has me covered even says "I knew you had Aces". I resisted the urge to say: "Then why the fock would you call (for another $100+)?". Aces held up for payday.

- Same scenario, Aces again about an hour later. Same result.

Good times.

i've heard that basically any 1/2 NL table is soft. i'm going to Vegas in 2 days and plan on hitting up these tables. i'm told anything 3/6 and below is a table full of drunk tourists that have seen the WPT on TV
