As announced last night, it'll be either the 200 min/max NL game or the 300-500 buyin NL game. Last night's show really disappointed, because it had too many tight players in it. Hopefully tonight will be different. Expect the usual combination of Bart/Tuch/Jana/Denny on tonight's broadcast.

AK/AKs/QJs

After the flop AKs bets out. QJs (who hit top pair), now thinks. AK (seat six) looks disgusted, but looks back at his hand to be sure. Rather than putting them back on the camera hole, he "shuffles" them, waiting for his turn to muck them. Seat (top pair) raises and takes the pot.

Superfecta is the first 4. The horse that finished 2nd was at 71-1, 3rd place horse was at 9-2, 4th place horse was 29-1. That adds up to a monster payoff.

I love it when people show me their cards. Before LATB, when you saw a mannerism you couldn't associate it with the players cards when there was no showdown.

I never show a hand, period. If I've got a royal, who's to say I didn't do something that a player could use against me later? I've only had one player EVER get a tell on me that I know of. I knew she was reading me. I told her I was never going to sit in a game with her again, and offered her money to tell me what she had. The #$%^% wouldn't make the deal.

Haha, the first time I ever played live was in Tunica in a $4/$8 game. I flopped quad Queens on a QQT board. Flop capped, turn capped, river capped two ways each. The other lady had TT and had the audacity to say "I read you right". I just shook my head as I raked in her chips.

Wish that damn case T had hit, bad beat was over 100K.

The problem with tells like reaching back for a drink is that it is not necessarily motivated by the action. Maybe he's just thirsty! Later he won't be.

The first week after reading Caro's Book of Tells, I was winning and saving scads of money, although the information in the book was of limited utility. It's just that I was LOOKING. Of course it's hard on this broadcast, because the camera tends to follow the action.

New to the show, been watching the past couple of weeks. I think this show possibly has the best commentary of any televised/broadcast poker show. I'm glad you guys actually talk about blind amounts, pot sizes, and play analysis. Keep it up, I'm hooked.

But one thing, you guys need to start drugging the players or something. They are almost always stiffs and nothing lively happening at the table. Just let em know its only $200 and to have fun!

I had a great time once when I took a couple of Brits to a baseball game. They asked what the rules were. I said, "It's real simple..." Then I starting telling them the rules as fast as I could talk -- including the exact infield fly rule, the catcher dropping the ball on the third strike, forced outs, tagging up, balks, yada^10. It was hilarious.

Peter: What the hell is he talking about?
Englishman: Oh, it's Cricket. Marvelous game, really. You see, the bowler hurls the ball toward the batter who tries to play away a fine leg. He endeavors to score by dashing between the creases, provided the wicket keeper hasn't whipped his bails off, of course.
Peter: Anybody get that?
Cleveland: The only British idiom I know is that "fag" means "cigarette."
Peter: Well, someone tell this "cigarette" to shut up.

My plans during the summer definitely include going to The Bike and Commerce.

While I'm at The Bike, I'd like to play at the broadcast game. Is it just a regular listed game? Or is there some way I can ensure myself a seat there? If there is a list, how long is the list? I'm particularily interested in the no limit games...

Anyone here actually played there and can talk from experience?

Thanks,

Whoever is in seat 9 is contractually obligated to be a blabbermouth since he's sitting right over the mic.

Seat 4 looks like Pee Wee Herman.

Francis: Why don't you make me!
Pee Wee: Because, I don't make monkeys, I just train 'em!

That's not all you do with your monkey is it, Pee Wee.

Dolly Bruson had the same opinion of the mini-raise (a.k.a. post oak bluff) that I do.

If vary the size of your bet with the strenght of your hand, you are sending your opponents coded information.

Kind of reminds me of the story about how Annie Duke went and talked with an FBI profiler or something to learn about how people lie.

Re: Martin Short, it was a L&O Special Victims Unit show titled "Pure". Here's the synopsis:

gs: Martin Short (Sebastian Ballentine)

After an 18-year-old girl is kidnapped, psychic Sebastian Ballentine comes forward claiming to have information on the killings. Stabler refuses to believe that Ballentine is a real psychic, and is convinced that the hints he is dropping about the case indicate he is somehow involved.

Question:

I thought the "nuts" meant the best POSSIBLE hand...How come the commentators say that J7 can't flop the nuts? wouldn't a flop of JJJ be the nuts? or 777 etc? And when we just saw the 1097 flop and the guy holding an 86 the commentator called that the nuts. Is this correct? I thought the nuts would be J8. Thanks for clarifying.

Why is it such a surprise that this came is tough? My buddy the prop said the hardest game to beat at Bay 101 is the 6/12. It attracts the engineers, while the business men play in the larger games.

Of course, he never plays in the reeeeealy big games.

hello everyone,

I was really excited by some of the play tonight at the 100 table. I thought the game was more entertaining than some of the 200 games we have had on the show before. This game was one for the archives. Thanks everyone for looking into FACS. I think that with a lot of effort to learn the system FACS can be a valuable tool in interpreting tells. Please join us Wednesday for (most likely) one of our limit games.
