Are "Newman's Own" products at all related to Paul Newman, the actor? I can't seem to tell from their website. I ask because I just had some Newman-Os, which are basically their version of Oreos but with a hint of mint flavor, and they're fantastic. Highly recommended.

IIRC, Newman's Own is made by Paul Newman the actor and a large portion (maybe all?) the profit goes to charity.

This is correct. I believe it is all the profits.

As others have said before me, yes, Paul Newman owns the company, and yes, all profits go to charity.

That said, the pretzels are great, and the spaghetti sauces are pretty good, too.

Yes the profits go to childrens charities. Specifically to camps that treat children suffering from cancer and the like.

Yeah and as i recall originally all the products were Paul's own recipies (i guess he's quite a cook) although I doubt thats the case anymore. Seems unlikely that he cooks a lot of his own oreos at home /images/graemlins/smile.gif

A lot of it goes to the Hole In The Wall Gang Camp (for kids with cancer) in Connecticut, which Newman started.

He said on Leno a few weeks ago that by September, Newman's Own will have given away more than $200,000,000.
