My girlfriend (2p2 poster smiely) and I are going to be at foxwoods the weekend of the 13th from late friday night, all day saturday, and possibly sunday. We'd love to meet up with some 2p2 posters. Is anybody going to be around? She'll be playing 2/4, and I'll probably play some 2/4 with her and some 4/8 or 5/10 kill.

I'm really looking forward to getting the chance to meet some fellow 2+2ers. Jar had the chance to meet some in AC, and he said they were a good bunch, so I'd love to get the chance to put some names to faces. So... anyone planning on being at FW next weekend? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

BTW smiely I'm from Wading River....small world.

I'll try and make it down if I can, depends on my schedule. It would be cool to meet up with some other 2+2'ers down there. Hmmm, 2+2 Fishwoods Conference, anyone? /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I was thinking of heading down there this weekend, but if I do, I'm not going to identify myself, because I'm just a pedantic misanthropic douchebag.

But, if you run into me, I'll be sure to give you a dirty look or something.

I get that look from every woman I see. When I get the look on the 12th and 13th I'll say to myself, "Hey, that must've been Toots"!

If you see an Ernie Els looking dope, spewing yellows and slurping JD on the rocks, you'll know it's me.

I'll prolly be sitting in a spread limit binky stakes Stud rock garden while I wait for a seat at $5/10 Omaha, but if pickin's are really slim, I'll probably sleaze over to the $4/8 or $5/10 limit HE games, or maybe the romper room NL game.

what kind of stud limits do they spread... any 3/6 or 5/10 or anything like this? or just bs 1-5... do they possibly spread a 2-10?

I don't really pay much attention, as I've only ever played the 1-5. I know there are always 1-3,1-5, 5/10, 10/20, and I think 20/40 going. I've seen 75/150 a number of times, I dunno if it's always going, or a sometimes thing.

the 75-150 stud seems to be always going. i don't know how those old guys do it, but they're still playing at 6am long after the 75-150 hoe game is broken.

also, i will be at foxwoods on 12-14 along with some friends of mine.

I'll be there on Saturday, either in the 4/8 limit, 1/2 NL, or 2/4 NL. I use one of TenPercenter's Anubis-head $1K Chipco chips as a card protector (pretty sure its the only one in the room).

toots
05-10-2005, 11:18 AM
Actually, it's one of the only two in the room.

Depending how how the mood takes me, I'll either have one of Ten's $5000 Tut plaques or the $1000 Anubis head as my card protector. Whichever I use, I'll have the other in my pocket.

D'oh; didn't realize anyone else up in New England had those chips. Does the plaque work well? It seems a little too large for my tastes as a card protector. I used to use the skeleton figurine in my avatar but one of the elastic bands holding him together broke and he can't handle the job any more. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Rest assured, if I see any other Egyptian chips at my table, I will promptly request a table change.

I lay it down perpendicular to the orientation of the cards. Otherwise, yeah, it's pretty close to card sized. It wouldn't cover the cards, but it'd get lost on top of one.

I don't really have a set of the egyptians. I just ordered samples of 10 of each denomination.

Shuffling the plaques is fun.

True, but the sound sucks. I wish the plaques were heavier and didn't make that weenie clicky sound when shuffled. I was disappointed that the backs came out upside-down but nobody else in the group buy seemed to mind so I didn't make waves.

Yeah, well I have a pretty dim opinion of chipcos in general, so the upside-down backs and the clackety-clack sound only goes along with that opinion.

Anyway, and I say this to anyone:

Hope I don't see you there this weekend.

I'm planning to get there early on saturday morning to get a seat quickly. If anybody would like my cell #, to call and have me put you on the lists, send me a PM. Also, PM me a phone number if you'd like to meet up.

I know I'm the early bird, but I'll be out there from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Probably playing either 2/4NL or 1/2NL depending on how the tables look. I'll be wearing a black Timberland t-shirt.

...I'll attempt not to mention PT or 2+2 this time around <g>

Seems like there should be a good sized group of 2p2ers there this weekend. Is anyone interested in some sort of meetup? Maybe in the snack bar area by the racebook sometime saturday?

I made it up to Foxwoods at about 930am, and was seated almost immediately in a brand new 4/8 game. I had your number, but I literally stopped drinking water so I wouldn't have to get up and go to the bathroom. I had maybe the best table I've ever had live, I may have played with 3 competent people all day long, I just couldn't miss a hand.

I ran "good," average cards, and managed 50bb's in about 7 hours. Absolutely great table.

Damn. I missed the fun.

Woke up feeling like crap. Fever, sore throat... no poker for me.

Got up there about 10pm on Thursday, played until 2pm Friday. I played 1/2 NL and the morning tourney on friday. I sat with some pretty decent players the whole time. During the tourney one guy at my table seemed like he could have been 2+2 but I wasn't sure. He called someones bet on the river with bottom pair and won. The other guy was wearing a bluff magazine shirt, so he says to him "Guess you wore the wrong shirt huh?". Pretty funny moment at 8:30 am. If you played with my I was wearing a grey sweater sitting in the 7 or 3 seat most of the time.
