Shillx was right (as ususal) 1/2 isn't always the nut peddling rock garden it is made out to be.

UTG here is laggy 84!!/11/2.3

Is my play horrible, or is it his?

what's with 9.37BB?

I'm trying to get used to raising AT PF (I hate it) - but I guess it's ok.

I like the play all around - I think I'd raise this river though with MP3 folding. it looks like UTG played his flush draw terribly. what the hell was MP3 doing?

I think the preflop raise is alright but I don't think it's a must in this situation; i.e. in LP after a lot of limpers.

that's what i was thinking - against 2 others it's good, but against 5? not so much

I raise ATo from the button as easily as a dog raises his leg to pee.

With many limpers it is better to limp with AJ and AT if they are not suited and you have the button. Well, it depends on what limping standards they have, if they come in with anything I guess it's ok to raise. By keeping the pot down you can protect it on the flop better, and if you miss completely it doesn't cost you as much.
If you don't have the button it is better to raise if you can raise out the players behind you and gain the button.

Hand looks good to me.

Weird -- I will raise ATo in late position with 3+ limpers still, but will fold this hand in early position. However, the difference between calling and raising this hand in this position is probably about the same EV (since close preflop decisions usually mean EV is roughly the same).

I recently started playing the 1/2 tables at party, and from my last 2000 or so hands the past 3 days, if you put yourself in the wait line for min of 8 players (instead of 9), you'll find yourself at 9max tables (yes, they do exist) which are significantly looser (and therefore worse players) and more profitable, IMO.

I'm not sure I've ever seen 4 consecutive stop-n-gos. That's impressive.

I don't like the PFR with 3 limpers. If it was only the LAG I'd raise to try and fold the blinds and isolate him, but with 3 in already I don't want to build this pot. What would you have done if UTG+1 or MP3 had raised before you?

Your flop raise doesn't protect your hand, and since you're last to act, I don't think you can do this to fold anyone, unless UTG 3-bets, but your hand may be good enough to be raising for value. I think it's close. What are you doing if UTG 3-bets?

Turn is fine.

Raise that river. At worst I think you're splitting, but I'd bet that you are beating A6 or acey-deucey. And I think that MP3 should go on your buddy list with a biiiiiig smiley face.

I didn't think the PF part of this hand would be the focus of this hand. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif UTG's range of hands is pretty abysmal. He's open-raising any A from every position. J9o has also been open raised from EP. He's got poo.

The limpers have been at the table longer than me, and have done nothing to attract my attention. (I'm single tabling here, new limit makes me nervous, but sharpens my focus a bunch). Is the PFR not for value?

i don't play that high...yet, so i'm not sure what people are limping in with UTG. the thinner the field the better, you don't want the blinds to play for free, and you have a strong hand. i would think it's for value. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

from your OOP it sounds like you lost? i'd have played it the same way.
