Looking to get some relatively small, but good quality headphones. I'm willing to spend up to $150. Any suggestions?

I have these (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005S8KM/qid=1115435697/sr=8-6/ref=pd_csp_6/102-0881710-7706513?v=glance&s=pc&n=507846) and they are great.

These (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009MK3T/qid=1115435736/sr=52-1/ref=sr_52_1_etk-accessories/102-0881710-7706513?v=glance&s=electronics&n=281407) are also very good.

I have Shure e2c's. I got them for ~$100. They are earbuds and they block out pretty much 100% of ambient noise (including NYC subways).

That can make you deaf.

Be careful on how high you set the volume.

The Sennheiser HD600 are generally regarded by audiophiles to be the best consumer phones available sub $2000. They retail for 600 or so, but you can find them for ~$250 online if you look hard. If you are serious about headphones get a separate headphone amp for these babies as well. You won't be disappointed. If you want to learn more about headphones, check out www.headfi.org (http://www.headfi.org)

edit: i didn't actually read your post, lol. these things aren't small... but shures and etymotics are the best small headphones.

Uhm... Listening to music really loud using in-ear headphones.

Good thing Dead is here to provide us with such valuable insight.

I knew a few young people who have hearing loss because of it.

I just wanted to point it out.

If you don't realize that listening to music with the volume to the point that it causes ringing and/or pain is bad, then you deserve the hearing loss.
