is how it's near impossible to get into any kind of situation with even a shred of ambiguity!

(No reads of any kind on UTG, by the way.)

Here's what I'm thinking.

I'm thinking I have to bet because a flush draw leads the likely holdings...but at the same time the average player at this level does not call a $10 bet on the flop like that with just a draw. I also suspect that I'm either a moderate favorite or drawing nearly dead.

General comments about the line, suggestions, snide criticism appreciated.

I would recommend a bet of $6.50 or $8, to prevent him from drawing to the flush.

Your play, brilliant in my opinion.

His small raise UTG would indicate a decent hand perhaps AK, AQ hearts? He's punting with over-cards and possibly a gut-shot draw...the betting on fifth street will give you a stronger sense of whether he's on the unlikely set. Proper play m8.
