i was just going to make a deposit at true, and asked the host what the neteller depo bonus was.

i was told "no bonus at this time"

welllll, then no deposit at this time.

is true the only site NOT offering a neteller depo this week/month??

seems like this would be a good time to have one. i know that they had one for neteller before most, but to not have one the week that paypal is going bye bye seems crazzzzzzy.

someone let me know when they offer it again please. i wanna play raise or fold, but granny needs her free money!

Gosh they have. No one playing there though, which makes sense. R/F has to be one of the dumbest variants around.

Basically its a $4/8 game with micro 0.5/1 blinds. The only difference is that it takes about three times as long to play each hand.

You need to play ultra tight and have plenty of coffee ready.

Granny, there was a 25% bonus at True for a month, where were you ?

I'm going to repost this in Small Stakes. There are some posters there who don't play online but will be able to give good strategy advice.

The game has been wildly popular for months with play money here. We thought we'd try it in real money, low limits to see if players were interested.

So far this afternoon, there has been a table going for several hours.

The game is not for the faint of heart as even at a 1-2 level, a contested pot likely will be over $40 by the river. (The rake is capped at $1.00.)

Thanks. Perhaps they will start playing on the Internet.

The game has been on all afternoon/evening.

It is very different than $4-$8, there are no free cards. The blinds are $1, not $.50. The game has more action than $1 - $2, the pots are bigger because people GAMBLE.

>pots are bigger because people GAMBLE.

Precisely that is why you need to play ridiculously tight. With micro blinds the cost of waiting for a premium hand is much less. A one-bet cap, means a much bigger proportion of the money goes in pre flop, hence the value of any hand with implied odds goes way down. Maybe it can be more profitable than a normal game but much less interesting.

but much less interesting.

Someone has devised something even more painful than fixed limit ring poker??

Surely anything is more interesting, particuarly a new challenge.

Both Piers' and Lorinda's points are accurate, but show different perspectives.

Piers, you admit that, while raise/fold may be more profitable, you think it would be less interesting. Lorinda appears to think a new game is itself a challenge which could be interesting, compared to regular limit games.

Thus far, the action in games is certainly present when it is played.

More Profitable or A Challenge or More Gambling or Not For You ?

Truepoker added the game because it was popular with our play money players. We want to try offering something new to the real money poker players, there are other games in design as well. Comments are welcome.

Comments are welcome.

Once a site gets past its early phase when it has a tiny player base (Which True did a long time ago), I cannot see any reason for not giving the players as much choice as possible.

The worst that can happen is that people won't play it and programmers will have to be paid for work that nobody uses.

A more likely scenario is that people will go to have a look at the new games and they will install the software on their computers.
This is good for the site, and also good for the players on the site.

More options = happier customers (as long as the options don't interfere with anything of course)

i actually used to LOVE the HE hi-lo, no qualifier. was a CRAZY game with big pots.

i could rarely get a game, and i assume that is why it disappeared.

Granny,

Holdem Hi-lo simply didn't catch on, despite our spreading it for over six months.

The Raise-or-Fold games have been going very strong in play money for over a year. We feel there is potential for a low limit, real money game here. It probably fits somewhere between regular limit games and pot/no limit games on a scale of potential pot size, action and difference from regular limit games.
