Why not fold preflop and save 2 small bets?

I think the point of the post is that based off how much time each player took to act, he picked up that they had a big hand.

If your saying that hero should check the flop because UTG paused a long time before checking (or auto checked), I couldn't disagree more.

I'm not saying I agree with him. I'm saying I think that was the point of his post, that he picked up a tell.

I met you at dinner at the Mirage diner a few months back, correct? If so, how's it going?

As for your "comment" /images/graemlins/smile.gif, I felt the same way as the hand unfolded. It was the most radical deviation I've ever made due to a read based solely on action-pauses. But UTG was playing something like 60% of hands, and was super-consistent:

check-call = pair or draw
check-fold = missed
pause until timer comes on, then check = will checkraise, and has at least 2 pair.

He did it on the flop, and then he waited even longer on the turn.

Wow, that is an impressive read for online.

Umm, yeah I think so, lol. If it was with Tommy and Clark and Andyfox, etc then yes. I'm doing great. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I had something similiar happen today except it was a false tell. BB is a passive player so his cap had me worried. I flop a monster two pair and after every raise I put in BB runs the clock down to about 10 seconds before raising. I have not seen him do this before and was thinking WTF? Did he flop a set and is pausing every time to induce bets? I wish I capped this idiot /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
