When i'm reading these formulas, i understand them fine, until the "Choose 2" word comes up. Can someone please elaborate? Thank you

I suspect that this page (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Combination.html) from the same site might be a little more helpful. The first line says:
The number of ways of picking k unordered outcomes from n possibilities. Also known as the binomial coefficient or choice number and read "n choose k,"
So, when someone says "52 choose 2" they mean "the number of ways you can choose 2 items from a collection of 52 items when the order you choose them in doesn't matter" (for example, getting dealt a 2 card hand from a deck of 52 cards). The formula there is then what people are using when solving the equations.

Ok, i get it then... but how would you go about calculating the equation. when they include "52 choose 2" what would you include as the number to take into consideration?
Sorry, i'm an idiot when it comes to math... at least i'm being honest /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

52 choose 2 would be
52! / 2! 50! = 52 x 51 / 2 x 1 = 1326
or you can go to www.google.com (http://www.google.com) and type in
52 choose 2
