Just got it today...the max resolution I can get it to is 1400x1050 without it flipping out and getting all fuzzy (which is what happens when I try 1600x1200 w/60 Hz) What gives?

I have a Gateway 400 Laptop I bought in 2003, and am using the Blue video hookup.

the video card on the laptop probably doesn't support that high resolution

How can you tell whether the videocard supports that resolution? Not sure what videocard I have, but it's a Dell Latitude D505 that I bought sometime in the last year.

It's in the tech specs. Find out what model video card you have. (Right click My Computer, click properties, then click the hardware tab, then click device manager. In device manager, open the "Display Adapter" tree and there is your video card) Once you have the model, just run a google search and look for the tech specs.
