can someone explain how this happened? guys name is a link

the guys name, in blue, was a text link. when my mouse hovered it my pointer would become my link pointer.

so i clicked the link and my browser popped up trying to access http://wwwe3456/. obviously this is an invalid url, so i tried www.e3456.com (http://www.e3456.com) and .net. neither work.

so what caused this?

I suspect that the software just turns any dealer chat that contains "www" into a clickable link.

Your PC recognizes "www" just as the @ is always seen as an email address, even if invalid like this: dfs@sdfk

No--that's the forum's software making the "link" clickable. It has nothing to do with "your PC recognizing" anything.
