I am looking at laptops on Dell. The two options for the 512 MB memory are either 1 Dimm or 2 Dimms.
Two Dimms is $50 cheaper. What is the difference, and I will it be noticeable. I know it's only $50, but if they are about the same, I could spend that on another upgrade.

Thanks for your help

The only downside to that you will be using two memory slots instead of one. This may affect you if you want to add memory in the future.

go with ONE. Then later you can double up with out wasting what you have now.

Always use the fewest sticks possible to get your RAM.

Thanks guys, I never thought that it meant two separate sticks.
It makes sense now. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well if you know you aren't going to upgrade in a while just get the two sticks if they are $50 cheaper. When you need to upgrade (6mo-1yr) the price will be even cheaper.
