What happened to this guy? Is he bankrupt? Maybe dead? Or is he just hiding right now before he awakes for the WSOP

While I imagine he is alive and well, I've always wondered what games he plays in reguarly. Anyone know?

I lost to a 2-outer in Aruba and spent way too much time playing crappy poker on that Poker Royal - Battle of the Sexes show.

During the Aruba WPT, he talked about how he thinks he has his life back in order and feel like he is focused on his game and ready to make some noise again.

he sat out the first 45 minutes in the 500 tourney on stars. Then proceeded to bluff all his remaining 2000 chips away in the next 5 minutes. Too bad it wasn't to me

The times you do see him, he seems like kind of a jackoff.

I have no knowledge of a drug problem, but he seems to play like he's tired of poker.

i think this thread is WAY off...just my opinion, but seriously...he got robbed for a WPT title less than six months ago, and if you've ever watched this guy play...he can run over a table like no one i've ever seen. drug problem, yes...he says it's in the past...but what if it isn't? that doesn't change the fact that he's one of the best in the biz, period.

I certainly hope everything is fine with him. I think he's a very likeable fella. I have a very addictive personality and thank god I never got into drugs! Now alcohol I've done more than sampled..... Thank god I quit that 4 years ago.

He admitted in a Cardplayer article about 2-3 issues ago (it was the cover story) that he previously had a drug problem and that Danniel Negreanu, I believe, paid soemthing like 22K for his rehab and that he has been 100% clean since then.

Does that mean he is broke, if he can't pay his own rehab?

I met and played with him in February for about a week on the first WPS(world poker showdown) cruise. His general demeanor was great, and he seemed to have a great time playing the game, granted it was 5/10 NL and 10/20 fixed. He also won a tourney on the trip.

PS he was playing the slots with a nice stack of $100 bills. He mentioned that he put over 30 grand in the machine! Crazy!

No, it's called an intervention, just read the article:

Flack is a class act, he's had a bumpy road though.

"I will make calls with the worst of it, knowing I am going to win."

Hey, does Layne Flack play low limits on Party?

"How did you make that call? You had 3-7o on a A-K-10 board and hit runner runner to best my A-Q!"

"I could feel it coming..."

Layne Flack is by far my favorite player. Flack doesn't post on forums, he doesn't have those gay blogs. He's 4 real. When he plays online, he plays his style, which either wins big or wins nothing. Please Layne post here.

I saw Layne in Vegas last week. He was playing a small tourney at the Golden Nugget. Whatever his past problems might have been, he looked like a million bucks when I saw him.
I later met one of the guys who played at the same table with him. He said he is an extremely nice guy. An interesting note here; Layne was asked which players he feared the most in tournament play and this was reply: Phil Hellmuth and Eric Seidel. Apparently Layne considers Hellmuth to be the best in the world, but again, this is second-hand information.

It's funny that one of the reasons you think Layne is "4 real" is because he doesn't post on any forums. You then wish for him to come post on a internet forum.
