just what the hell is Cinco De Mayo anyways...

I always presumed it was an ethnic holiday that the average U.S. person used as an excuse to get plastered on that ethnic group's brand of alcohol - (much like everyone gets drunk drinking Guinness on St. Patrick's Day even though they're not Irish)

I don't think it's as bad as that, but I am wondering what the hell this holiday is...

It's the anniversary of an important battle in Mexican history, where they defeated the French.

If we had a holiday for everytime the French lost a war, we'd never get any work done.
