Yeah that was weird.

Also, not funny.

He should have done something more besides stand there and eat.

He should have brought a chicken and fed him the KFC.

The best part is when the guy makes the "good chicken" comment and then the bullhorn guy starts up the "KFC tortures chickens" bit again. That was funny.

100% unoriginal.

Already done here in Syracuse, almost a year ago.

Why did the chicken cross South Salina Street?

To draw attention to protesters from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and local animal rights groups demonstrating at a Syracuse KFC restaurant.

About 12 people gathered Thursday afternoon in front of KFC at 1524 S. Salina St. carrying signs calling for a boycott of the chain, citing cruel treatment of chickens at a West Virginia slaughterhouse. Meanwhile, a person in a chicken suit sat in a wheelchair and waved.

"We want people to know that they're eating at a place that probably has the worst abuses," said Joe Hinkle, a PETA member from Norfolk, Va.

A message on KFC's Web site states the slaughterhouse where the abuses occurred is no longer a provider for the chain. The Web site also states that KFC requires all suppliers to follow the industry's animal welfare guidelines.

Holding a large bucket of chicken, Jon Alvarez, of Lysander, stood behind the line of protesters. Between bites, Alvarez taunted them as they tried to hand pamphlets to passers-by.

"I'm a local consumer," Alvarez said. "I came to see if anyone here took issue that I eat chicken."

Although several cars seemed to turn away when they saw the commotion, at least a couple of people said they stopped at the restaurant just to be defiant.

"I ordered the biggest piece of chicken I could find," said Allen Mills, of Syracuse.

How did I know it had done before? Because I know the guy who did it.

I was skeptical at first, but now I am wholly convinced that you are pretty damn cool.

The concept is funny, but the execution was sadly lacking.

Central Square eh? Yeah I've been there. When you say outskirts you REALLY mean outskirts. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif It's 25 minutes out.

But yeah, that KFC/Taco Bell combo on Salina is pretty sweet. Salina Street is pretty cool in general. That part of it at least.
