I dropped in on PGA's table right when he lost a coinflip. One guy had about 10,500, the other had 3000. 10500 guy offered the short stack guy 3500 for the seat, uncontested. The short stack immediately took it. Is it just me or is 3500 a lot to give up when you have the guy outchipped 3:1?

3000/10500 = 3.5:1 chip lead. Seat costs $11000 on party, meaning if they did even chips it would be $2444 to the guy in second and the rest to the guy in first. Short stacks usually win out in the deal, this was probably a little high for the shorty but not overly so.

Both players were very weak in the way they approached the deal.

Heh I just opened up the tourney, I saw that the chipleader didn't have $3500 in his account...... (edit: and he just won)

If SO means Shootout, as in Stars Double Shootout, then the seat is worth $12K...$10K buyin + $1000 cash + $1000 for hotel if you'll wear Stars gear.

That only increases the shortie's value to $2666.66, though, so $3500 is still way high unless the guy is a terrible headsup player.

Hey guys; I made a deal in the shootout last week and felt I gave up too much. I had a huge chip stack to his and he was a decent, aggressive player so I was somewhat worried about hit doubling up.

Basically, I had 11.3k to his 2.2k. He said he wanted to deal. I said 1.5k, he said 2.6. We eventually worked it out to where I gave him 2k.
