I really hate AJs sometimes. Half the field not gone yet, Average stack probably $2400, starting stack $1500.

I would repop it to 700 and fold to a push here.

recheck stack sizes of CO and CO-1... no you're not folding.

Also check the stack size of the BB. I agree I'm not folding, the question is call or raise.

me = borderline weak-tight sometimes.

that said...

had CO stayed out, I raise enough to put CO-1 all-in.
with CO in there, I call and play a flop

but I'm not as good at this as MLG /images/graemlins/confused.gif

With position I'd be inclined to call and see the flop.

Right, I push.

That's what I decided to do. I figure most hands that call a raise are way ahead, and I'm suited so let's play for the nut flush at the very least.

Any other opinions before I post results?

With your opponents stack sizes you really aren't going to be able to get off of top pair if you flop it. If you fold all flops that miss you you will lose to all the hands you are ahead of that fire out continuation bets. So, when your opponent has a monster and you would hit you might save money by calling, but you will be losing a lot more those times you fold the better hand on the flop.

I think raising is probably better here but not extraordinarily so.

I thought my decision was right when I made it, but I really wasn't sure. AJ is one of those hands I just hate with those stack sizes. Now I'm thinking that I was results oriented about it, though.

FWIW, myself, CO-1, and the BB all won Stage 2 seats in this tourney (and MP1 and MP3 /images/graemlins/smile.gif).

Does the fact that this is a satellite and not a regular tournament change this? From what I understand stack maintenance is more important than building a massive stack in Sats.

i call.

but that being say, i can also laydown a pair of A's on the flop. If you can't, then fold.

I like to push and take the pot in the middle. CO can't like to call here with another bigger stack acting behind him, so he'll likely fold. CO1 hasn't shown a lot of strength either and will likely fold as well.
