Have you guys ever seen someone fold for no bet on the river IN POSITION before?

I did have this happen once. I think they were first to act though, but I was so surprised because it was the same sort of situation where I took a stab at something and got called, then ended up checking it down. On the river they just folded before I showed my cards. I like it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I understand his play better than yours. He misclicked. What were you doing?

I'm pretty sure he'd have to misclick twice in order to fold without a bet in front of him. As for NLSoldier, there was a discussion about a similar play in the SSNL forum. NLSoldier obviously sensed weakness and wanted to take it down right there. I've made that play many a time.

Perfectly fine play for NLSoldier. A routine stab at a pot. No big deal.

I was heads-up in a $10 6-seater last night on UB. Three times during heads up, the guy just folded his cards first to act after the flop. Makes no sense to me. (Yes, I won the thing.)

From other posts of jcm's, I get the impression that he starts getting very nervous if you start coloring outside the lines a little bit.

Yes, I've seen folds like this before, but I can't claim to understand them. They make marginally more sense out of position - maybe the guy doesn't want to show his cards, but the problem with this is that if your hand sucks enough to muck on the end for free people are going to realize you're playing trash anyway.

As far as taking a shot, I don't think it's a bad idea here. The flop bet looks quite weak, and while I'm not sure that you're going to move somebody off of a weak ace, I also think you probably would have seen a stronger bet out of somebody who was likely to play a weak ace and hold it here. Shutting down when you get called does seem like a necessity; a second barrel could be possible given a good read and a bigger stack, but here it would probably just be chip spraying.
