This morning, the local news I watch ran a story to "explain why Scott is still on American Idol".

The station blamed this web site:link (http://www.votefortheworst.com/)

Basically, the site urges people to vote for the worst performer on AI (at present Scott is their pick for worst) each week.

Not sure if this site is driving the voting at all, but I thought some of you AI investors might be interested.

i have thought that scott has some geekyboy friends that figured out how to powervote millions of votes without getting caught.

for him to be top 3 last week was scary, but there are 35 million votes cast so it can't be a small site like that giving him the extra votes. i'm sure it can't hurt, but i don't think it could add or change that many votes.

anyway, i hear that ABC is running a segment on idol wednesday night that is going to blow the lid off the show. i'm not sure what that means, but it does not sound good.

i just saw the counter there. total hits are half a million. like i said, it probably is helping scott but i don't know by how much.

I think there are a lot of sympathetic fat people in this country.

See, I always thought they should have done the voting like they did on Fame. Limit calls to 5 votes per phone line. If you want to vote 15 times - you would have to use your home phone, cell phone and a pay phone. That way people who are bored with too much time on their hands can't inflate the votes unfairly.

Was she banging constantine?!?!?!

He was pretty smooth when he was on Elimidate. I believe he won so this wouldn't suprise me.

An article I read, stated that he just put the counter on his site last Monday, following recent news reports of his site.

I do think that a team of few thousand power voters could have changed the results. Not one person I have talked about American Idol likes or has voted for Scott. You must ask yourself and coworkers and friends the same thing. Where are the Scott voters coming from?

Not one person I have talked about American Idol likes or has voted for Scott.

here's the deal SS. i agree with you 100%

last year when john stevens got further than anyone expected or he deserved, he still had a huge fan base at the idol forums that were voting for him and professing devotion.

if you go to the idol forums, you can BARELY find a single person who admitted ever voting for scott. that's why i suspect foul play in the voting.

also, i don't think that corey clark's bs book or the paula/constantine rumors have anything to do with the ABC special. i want to hear the messages.

From what I understand its all about Corey Clark and his torid love affair with an overmedicated 80's pop singer, Also I hear Trenyce makes an appearance and say she didnt win because the judges "hated her".

I don't think there will be any real substance to this special. I think it will be mostly fluff, the afformentioned two items, combined with the 5 or 6 controversial criminal or pornagraphic backgrounds of previous contestants that everyone has already heard a zillion times.

I would bet you there isn't 1 new piece of information exposed in the entire hour.

It was Corey from a previous season.

'Idol' Producers Answer Voting Charges

POSTED: 2:28 pm PDT May 2, 2005
UPDATED: 2:39 pm PDT May 2, 2005

Producers of "American Idol" have responded to the furor created by Internet sites that purport to skew the vote on the popular contest show.

Spurred by media coverage of several negative Internet sites, including "Vote-for-the-worst-com," which urges viewers to vote for contestant Scott Savol, the A.I. producers claim that any attempt to affect the overall results would not work.
"While it is unfortunate that a small group of people are so caustic that they believe it would be humorous to attempt to negatively sway the voting on "American Idol," the number of purported visits to the website would have no impact on voting," said a statement from the 'Idol" producers.

"Until the media started writing about this website in the past two days, the number of visitors was practically nonexistent. It is also clear that many visitors to the site are posting their displeasure with the site and asking them to cease this negative behavior. Each week millions of votes are received for each contestant, and based on the tiny number of visitors this site has allegedly received, their hateful campaign will have no effect on the selection of the next American Idol."

The statement concludes, "Millions of fans of "American Idol" have voted for their favorites so far this season, and that success speaks far louder than any vicious and mean-spirited website."

The Washington Post is reporting that Paula Abdul left a message on Corey Clark's cell phone telling him not to talk to the media. It also said Clark's phone records show he and Paula talked "often and long" while he was on the show.

And here's the worst part: As part of ABC's deal with Clark, we get to hear part of his new single on the show.

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Here's an excerpt from The Washington Post article:

But among the many bits in the broadcast is a message Abdul allegedly left on Clark's cell phone urging him not to respond to media inquiries, say sources familiar with the story, who insisted on remaining anonymous. The sources say the call was placed after syndicated gossip columnist Cindy Adams broke the story that Clark was shopping around a book proposal promising to tell all about his alleged relationship with Abdul.

Also in store for viewers is a look at Clark's telephone records, which allegedly show that he and Abdul spoke often and long while he was a contestant in the singing-competition series, according to some sources.

And, as part of ABC News's deal to get Clark's cooperation, we'll get to hear a portion of his new single during the newscast, one source reported.

I dont think it was bs, and I wouldnt doubt that this little affair became known to some of the producers who retaliated by booting him for the domestic abuse charge, before things got out of hand and tainted the shows credibitlity.

Honestly, I would think that Fox can find these charges just as easily (if not easier) then "The Smoking Gun" etc. I believe they knew of the charge early and pulled the card when they had to. If it would have come out by other means they could have just as easily spun it like the Scott and Bo arrests this year.

Even if this was the case, I would have to agree that it was fair. You can't be f**king Paula and be playing on a level field.

Vote For the Worst has gotten over 560K hits since they added a counter. The fact that AI is issuing announcements that reference the site, means that the site should get even more hits (and perhaps get them at a higher frequency) throughtout the day.

How will this impact the voting this week? Will more people go this the site's message and vote for Scott?, Or, will the coverage of the site motivate hardcore fans to vote for their favorites even more than ususal?

Put another way... Is it time to buy, sell, or hold on Scott?

this corey clark story has been out for a week. he has saved this crap to get maximum exposure.

to be honest with you, i think this is great news. paula will look like a fool, but i don't think this will taint the integrity of the show.

maybe paula fired, but that's as bad as it will get. he can claim he was coached and even prove it with the conversations but he did not go far enough in the competition and paula did not do anything that harmed the process (other than showing horrible judgement to get a piece of young meat)

btw, the phone records mean nothing. only the recorded messages will hurt her. truth be told, she could have been trying to use her power to impress corey just like any typical hollywood producer or star.

this is all dumbass, highschool behaivor and i don't think it will hurt anyone but ms. abdul

Tradesports has Scott moving up today... Currently, you can sell at 2 and buy at 3.8.

WSEX has the sell at 0 and the buy at 2.

Is it time to buy, sell, or hold on Scott?

never will be a buy.

if you already own some, you can't sell them because there is no market. so, hold until you can sell, then sell for anything you can get.

i don't care how much exposure this site gets, it will not get him past this week if there is any validity to the voting.
