AK vs QQ
one raised to 125 pf the other doubled to 250 and other called
AK hit king on turn

Two fishy players from what I can see. Which surprise me a little. Imagine how many of them that fail on the way upstream.

most of this table looks pretty butter on prophecy and some of the things I have seen so far. Light years easier than the first one played the other night.

gregfurd started pretty wild. But he seems to have calmed down quite a bit now.

That last hand was so sick.

Crazy ass last hand...Halfrek goes all in with J7spades and Ckblock35 calls with ATclubs (has him covered by 1500 maybe). Flop is KTX all spades. Turn is T and River is K. The qualifier brought home 100K on runner runner.

The Student

that's the beauty of the push/fold. you can push, be trailing, nail the flop, and still lose the hand/set/match.

crazy - i started watching at 7 players left, and i saw only one flop played.

Does this qualify as one of the worst, if not the worst, bad beats of online poker history?

justin D

I would say it would be pretty close.

The Student
05-02-2005, 11:25 PM
No, because he pushed with the worse hand.

On the other hand, if it happened to me, I would need a new computer, because I would have ruined my old one by spewing all over it.

Why, because of the order the cards came out?

Yes. I think it would still qualify as a bad beat. Post turn being 98% and losing...for that amount of money...WOW.

EDIT: Wouldn't you be telling your friends that you lost 70k on a bad beat if it happened to you?

I'm sure it will be hard for the loser of the hand to come to grips with it, but he was called by a better hand. If he's got a decent head on his shoulders, it shouldn't take him long to get over it.

When you're all in preflop the order of the cards postflop doesn't matter.

As numerous others have pointed out, it's not a bad beat. If he got the money in on the flop, it's a different story. But I'm sure there've been dozens if not hundreds of perfect-perfect beats that are more improbable, and if you leave the realm of hold'em and move into other games you can start getting even more ridiculous beats.
