That's an odd line to take.

Your preflop raise isn't folding out the CO no matter what he has. Either flat call preflop, or pop it to $6-$7 to see if he's for real.

Given how you saw the flop, this is one of those way ahead/way behind scenarios. I'd probably just check/call all the way, let him bet a second best hand that he would fold to a bet (like QQ, TT, AQ, etc), while minimizing your payoff of a hand that just outflopped the crap out of you (AJ, KJ, etc). You can bet out the flop like you did, but after his raise im going into check/call mode.

Given how you played it you really have to call the river bet too, he could be bluffing a scare card or overplaying a hand like AQ, and the pot is big enough by now that you have to look him up.

As it turns out, I did call... he turned over KcQc for the nut flush.

I reckon the check-call would have probably cost me less, as he would have probably taken the free turn and not cost me as much on the river. I suppose I gave him too good odds on the turn, though, as he actually was still drawing for a flush / gutshot straight. Were I the villain, I would probably have played it the same way he did. Its a lesson for next time I reckon. Thanks for the thoughts.

Try to avoid tiny reraises preflop. I'd try and always make it 3x their raise at the minimum whenever you reraise.

I'd bet around $8 on the flop. If he minraises that I'll call. I'd probably check-call somewhere in there. It's hard giving advice on later streets when the later streets play differently with a different line you're reccommending.
