So finally, after being on the ground in Vegas in excess of 24 hours and still not having a drink or even one hand of poker played we made it to the Poker room in Excalibur.

Typical Excalibur 1-3 game, fun, fairly loose, good dealers and the cocktail waitresses were efficient.

This was my wife's first time in a real money game, much less live in a real casino. She was pretty nervous at first but she did really good and she ended the night up ahead buy like $30. On the other hand, I couldn't catch a good pair of cards to save my life. I had a pair of aces hold up once and a couple of other hands where I pulled a small pot but just couldn't get anything else to work. It was one of those nights where the best hand I had was a 4-7 of hearts in the blind and flopped a straight.

There was a fight in the room last night too!!
It was at the no limit table. I guess there was a railbird who was smoking and one of the guys int he game started telling him not to be blowing smoke at him or something. Next thing you know the guy at the table has a cut by his eye and is bleeding, beer bottle goes flying and all kinds of people, including a couple of guys with chefs hats show up while the two of them are hollering at each other. I am enjoying the show and the dealer at our table just keeps on dealing. Pretty soon security shows up and the two guys are taken away and from what I heard were both taken to jail.

All in all a goot time was had and my wife had a ball and is converted to poker instead of Blackjack.

Were you playing no limit when this happened? If so you were playing with me. Was wearing an expos hat.

No, I was at the 1-3 table right next to the no-limit table.
I really didn't see anything until the two of them were up and hollering at each other and all the people converged. Then I noticed the one guy is bleeding! then started hearing bits and pieces from some of the dealers. Never did get the WHOLE story though. Was the description I got even close to the truth?
Made me laugh anyways.

Actually i was the expert witness and had to fill out the report, cause i was sitting next to the guy. smoker was blowing smoke into the poker room, right into our table then the guy next to me asked him kindly to move. The smoker refused and the guy next to me gets up from his seat and smashes his food that's in a togo box. the smoker then throws his beer all over him , the other guy pushes him and then the smoker throws a punch lands it on the eye and he bleeds. All the while the dumbass dealer is still dealing and i have to call to secruity for myself. 4 dealers run over and stop it, and the guy sits next to me bleeding.

Well, the 1/3 spread game at Excal can accurately be described as "retard poker." Great for drunken donking and blind capping, but not much else. The 2/6, on the other hand, is semi-playable and the spread limit just kills the passive players.
