Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (3 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Button (t3585)
SB (t4140)
HERO (t2275)

Preflop: HERO is BB with 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
Button raises to t500, 1 fold, HERO ?

villian has raised 2.5BB with 89o and QQ on the bubble. so he could have anything.

but this is the 3 time in a row that's he's been raising when i'm the button and i'm getting tired of it. (i folded my blinds other 2 times.)

Should I use a stop and go, or is it not worth fighting for 200 chips when I have 2000chips?

I don't see why those have to be your only two options. There's nothing wrong with calling and seeing if the flop fits. You'll still have plenty of chips if you miss.

Heck, I'd be more inclined to reraise preflop than blindly using a stop and go (though I still like calling better) - your T9s will generally have a decent (35%+ chance) to win a showdown, and you have plenty of fold equity here.

yeah i see no need to necessarily stop and go

call and take a flop, then play it from there, if you miss you still have room to operate in later hands.

Call and see a flop? I'd push here everytime. You got some fold equity, there's 700 in the pot to take, and if you get called you'll never be in really bad shape, except if he's got you dominated. Against AQo you're 40%, against an underpair you're 52%, against Ax you're 48%.

how the heck do i have a 52% advantage if he has an underpair?! (Even AKs is behind 22.)

Push? hm.....

T9s and JTs have more straight potential than AK.

Am I the only one thinking this should be pushed??

I might push here too, but it mostly depends on my read. Sometimes I'm more scared when someone raises the 3rd time in a row. Usually people only position raise after they have been stealing previous hands if they now have a decent hand. Some players won't make 3 steals in a row, meaning that the 3rd raise is a solid hand. Whether I would push here just depends on whether I think this is the case or not.

If you're going to play back, I prefer a push to a stop & go. Since you are putting him on a wide range of hands, it could be pretty tough to know that pushing a flop of J73 isn't suicidal. In other words, don't let him see a flop he might like.

I don't push there without high cards or a pair no matter how much he has been raising. I like calling there. There are too many hands that have hero dominated. There will be better spots to pick than this.

Push. Your hand is decent if called. He won't call without a pretty good hand. You have no reason to believe he has a pretty good hand. Not only will you benefit from the $EV of this move, but you will increase the chances that the blinds will be folded to you in the future (if there is one).

Maybe there are, but most of them won't call. Against a reasonable call range he will pick it up without showdown pretty often, and when there's a showdown he won't be dominated unless he's against 99+.
