What settings do I have to jimmy with to get MS Word to save my preferences?

For instance, every time I open it up the stupid ruler shows up. I don't like the ruler, so I turn it off. After I exit the program and open it back up, the ruler is back. This makes me unhappy.

Anybody know the secret?

Sweet. That worked for the side one, but I don't want the one across the top, either. I hate all rulers. Got any others?

Thanks.

Hosers.

I think I got it anyway. I just turned it off and this time it seems to have taken.

I also like the blue background with the white font, and I clicked that and closed it out, and it was back when I re-opened it.

Thanks. I knew how to turn it off. The problem was everytime I would re-open the program the ruler would be magically ressurected.

Hopefully it's gone for good now. We'll see.

yeah, i just realized after making that last post that the view / uncheck ruler removes both rulers and stays when you restart word... and started to think you were nuts.

i was learning as i went along.
